Pei Ning Lee

Description

Pei Ning was born in Taipei in 2007. She began piano lessons at the age of five, which sparked her passion for music. In first grade, she discovered the harmonica through her school’s club and soon auditioned for the school team, where she mainly played the bass harmonica. By fifth grade, she had taken up the chromatic harmonica under the guidance of Chang Chao-Teng.

Since 2016, Pei Ning has been actively performing in competitions such as student music contests, the Taiwan Harmonica Music Festival THMF, and the Seoul International Harmonica Festival SIHF. She has distinguished herself with outstanding results across many categories, including tremolo and chromatic solo, duet, trio, and both ensemble and orchestra.

In 2024, as a member of the Orion Harmonica Ensemble, she performed at the Wangxing Elementary School Lawn Concert, the Taiwan–Hong Kong Harmonica Exchange, and the Taiwan Harmonica Music Festival Midday Concert. In 2025, she appeared as part of the duet “Cookie Monster” at the Festival’s midday concert. That same year, she was invited by Jang Li to join Harmonistory ART CREATION as a featured young artist, performing in a harmonica–piano septet at the Music for Love Concert, THMF Gala Concert, the Galaxy of Reeds Lawn Concert, the Matsu Biennial, and World Harmonica Festival Gala Concert.

Artist's Words

To play a piece well, the first requirement is a good instrument.”

“What attracts me most to the Laelaps 64 Stellar is its tone colour: the low register is rich and full, while the high notes are clear and bright. In addition, its keys are remarkably smooth, allowing me to play with ease and giving me greater freedom to express myself in both performances and competitions.

“With the Laelaps 64 Stellar as my trusted partner, I’m confident that harmonica music can be shared with even more people who love it.”
